In total, the development will feature 637 dwelling units, including the townhomes. With an average size of 622 square-feet, the unit mix is expected to consist of 107 studio layouts, 312 one-bedroom, 139 two-bedroom and 73 three-bedroom layouts. Two levels of underground parking are proposed, which will include 438 spaces, including 295 for residents.
The podium’s third floor will feature an impressive, U-shaped outdoor amenity terrace spanning over 12,000 square-feet. An outdoor pool is proposed for the terrace, with a west-facing view. 14,135 square-feet of indoor amenity space will also be included, spread over the podium’s third, eighth and ninth floors.
A significant amount of public realm improvement is planned for the site at 2440 Yonge Street, including two public courtyards along the site’s western portion, which will include seating area, children’s play equipment, water features and landscaping. The terraced podium and slender towers will feature a mix of materials in their architecture, including stone, precast concrete and glass.
Condos near Yonge and Eglinton are becoming extremely popular for investors and it’s no wonder. The neighbourhood has undergone a significant transformation over the past five years, from a sleepy commercial pocket to an area with a distinctly downtown feel. High-end condominiums and office buildings have sprung up on every corner and a multi-million-dollar retail expansion has seen a number of upscale brands move in.
It’s a place where world-class shopping, dining and lifestyle services are at your fingertips, and the trend for growth shows little signs of slowing down. Based on the number of contemporary proposals in the works for the neighbourhood, Yonge and Eglinton is on track to be one of Canada’s densest neighbourhoods, adding space for over 20,000 new residents in the next ten years.
Another reason we love condos near Yonge and Eglinton is the exciting arrival of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, which is scheduled to be operating by approximately 2019. This new rapid transit line will span nearly 20 kilometres from Kennedy Station in Scarborough to Toronto’s Weston Road, adding 25 new stops and connecting with 54 bus routes, three subway stations and several GO Transit lines. Once completed, it will make Yonge and Eglinton one of the city’s only intersections to feature rapid transit access in all four directions.
Commuting into Toronto’s downtown core takes under fifteen minutes, while getting to many other major destinations in the city, like Ryerson University and the University of Toronto is equally efficient. A connected and cosmopolitan location, Yonge and Eg is a fantastic place to consider investing in.
